Now I posted a new piece and waited with baited breath to see it appear on FB but nada. Checked the plugin page and no error message. In fact none of the posts I put up today showed up.

I checked the settings on FB and I think the choices are just weird. Why isn’t there one that gives me the option of simply allowing every post to appear on my FB page (with some kind of option over the size of extract, similar to the settings it has now). And I have never been notified that the piece is large even though that’s the default setting. And in any case it’s not as if the entire post gets imported into FB, so the size is irrelevant. I’d rather it be straightforward link, with FB being a static ‘feedburner’ type to access new stuff from.

Wordbook has not yet been updated to work with the new Facebook; many cross-posting features will not work. Please see http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/topic.php?uid=3353257731&topic=5771

I got a curious error code and failure on my latest blog posting. Have any of you seen this before?

Wordbook failed to communicate with Facebook for History of Kirking of the Tartans: method = profile.setFBML, error_code = 4 (Application request limit reached). Your blog is OK, but Facebook didn’t get the update.

    Any help appreciated.

i’m sorry dude, i couldn’t get 0.14 to work. i was able to get the one time code and paste it on the wordbook set up page but after i click on submit, it just gives me a blank page.

  6. #6 by Nudger on Thu Oct 30, 2008 - 4:56 am

The new Facebook engine certainly has put a stop to this great APP. I used to see the blogs appear on my profile page as a post… not any more. You have to go to the APPs page from your profile to see that.

    Now that is pretty shite

  7. #7 by Darren Taylor on Thu Oct 30, 2008 - 9:10 am

when i install wordbook and successfully enter the one-time code it links up fine. however, as soon as i post something to my blog so it’ll appear on facebook when i go back to workbook in my settings it asks me to set it up again. why is it continually resetting?

  8. #8 by Chelle on Thu Oct 30, 2008 - 10:37 am

I did the automatic upgrade to the plugin and I get a error for undefined function wordbook_rest_client( on line 1072 in wordbook.php. Rolled back to the previous version in the meantime, but though you’d like to know.

  9. #9 by Ross on Thu Oct 30, 2008 - 12:02 pm

v.14 only works with PHP5. Facebook didn’t provide a PHP4 version of the platform.

Hey Man, version 0.14.2 doesn’t work.. fix it out! :-)

  11. #11 by UrbanSkaters on Sat Nov 1, 2008 - 11:06 am

This is a dead project. I think someone else should take it over and revamp the code. I pulled this off my blogs months ago after the repeated number of emails asking for updates went unanswered. The new code doesn’t work either, so avoid this plugin for the meantime.

  12. #12 by cckhaw on Sun Nov 2, 2008 - 12:48 am

hey, 0.14.2 works well on my blog, but can you allow us to have facebook status message display as a widget ? I can see you get the message in admin>setting>wordbook…

    thanks

  13. #13 by Nudger on Wed Nov 5, 2008 - 3:53 am

The plugin will work if you ensure your website hosting company enables your website to run PHP 5.0 or higher.

Problem with the latest version of WordPress with the latest version of Wordbook.

When I’m running the plugin, and try to add tags to a post or delete a draft post or some other things, I get a blank page and the function doesn’t work. In other words, it seems to interfere with WordPress working correctly. When I deactivate the plugin, WordPress works fine again.

  15. #15 by Bill Petro on Mon Nov 10, 2008 - 7:44 am

I too am getting the same experience, if I have the plug-in enabled, when I got to publish a post, the screen goes white.

Just upload and activated the plugin. When setting up wordbook with the activation code I receive this error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: wordbook_rest_client() in /home/bangkokm/domains/bangkok-market.com/public_html/blog/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/wordbook/wordbook.php on line 1074

I would really like to activate your plugin. Look forward hearing from you soon. thx

  19. #19 by Ross on Tue Nov 18, 2008 - 9:50 am

Check your hosting environment. The current version of wordbook requires PHP5. Based on the exception you are seeing your wordpress is running in php4.

  20. #20 by pattyb on Tue Nov 18, 2008 - 11:47 am

Can I use this wonderful plugin to update a facebook page as well as a facebook profile? I have my facebook profile, but I also own a facebook page that I want to be able to sent new blog posts to. Will that work?
    Thanks, Patty

my blog also uses PHP5 and I get the same message. I just don’t know what to do to solve the problem that many people are having.

Setup went fine, but on post, I got this error:

Wordbook failed to communicate with Facebook for Maybe Facebook is the killer news app: method = feed.publishUserAction, error_code = 807 (No active template bundle with that ID or handle exists.). Your blog is OK, but Facebook didn’t get the update.

    Hi
I hope this communiqué finds you in the best of health and spirit.
    Dude, i AUTOMATICALLY upgraded the WordPress (from 2.5 to 2.6.5), as it reactivated the plugins; the next day i realized the wordbook had stopped updating my facebook for new posts. I went back to wordpress admin page for wordbook, it asked me again for the Facebook one-time code. I regenerated it, pressed submit and since then i had continuously been getting the following error;

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class Facebook in /home/omer9099/public_html/haqeeqat/wp-content/plugins/wordbook/facebook-platform/php/facebook.php on line 37

I deactivated the plugin, uninstalled it. Uploaded it again, activated it, repeated the Facebook one-time code procedure (generated new one each time) but the error wont go:s

I just loved the plugin as i’m quite social at facebook and my friends like to get to my blog there.

    Kindly help.

I’m using NextGen Gallery widget to post images to my blog, any suggestions for how to get these thumbnails posted to my Facebook at publishtime?

    Thanks!!

  27. #27 by Rosina Lippi on Mon Dec 8, 2008 - 12:47 pm

I’m wondering if you still check these comments, but I thought it was worth a try.

The plugin installed without a problem, no error messages. However, when I post to my wordpress blog, two things happen:

    1. I get this error message ”
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 601725 bytes) in /home2/rosina/public_html/rosinalippi-com/weblog/wp-includes/wp-db.php on line 429″

    2. the fatal isn’t fatal — the post shows up fine, and the notation shows up on facebook (except without a thumbnail.

Is there something to do about this?

Is anyone else having problems with this on WP 2.7?

  31. #31 by Lucas on Wed Dec 24, 2008 - 7:09 am

Looking at the WordBook forum on Facebook, i think the problem is due to ‘scheduled posts’.. Any ideas of a work around?

    Thanks!

  33. #33 by Rich on Fri Dec 26, 2008 - 6:00 am

hey there.. Love the plugin, but I had a question?

I’m using version 0.14.2 of the plugin with my install of 2.3.2 of WordPress. I have a multiple author blog http://worldramblers.com

The articles that I write are appearing as both an excerpt and also as a line entry with Richard wrote a blog posting and then the name of the article with a link to the article on the blog.

The problem is the excerpt of the articles that are displayed do not link to the blog, but instead to a link on Facebook notes. This is a problem as I limit the length of the article to 200 words using Feedburner. This prevents the user from being able to read the whole article in Facebook notes and as the title in notes is not a link to my blog the reader can’t see the whole article.

This problem isn’t too bad if I’m the article author as I mention above it does create two entries one that has an excerpt with link to facebook notes and another one line stating I wrote the article and a link to my blog. its not great but at least there is a way the user can read the whole thing.

The problem is worse when I’m not the article author. in this situation there is only the article excerpt on facebook which links to facebook notes. And yes you’ve guessed it the reader now has no way to read the whole thing as it’s limited to 200 words by feedburner and the title of the article in facebook notes does not link to my blog..

Is there a way to enable the user to be able to click a link to the article on my blog irrelevant of whether I’m the author or not. And without changing the amount of words I’ve set up in feedburner (needs to be this length for other reasons)…

    Thanks

i got mine up and running again by doing this:

theme must have a call to at the very bottom right before the tag.

also, you can set your facebook ‘notes’ section to import RSS feeds, which is a decent temp fix if you need to.

    hope this helps
